Intel Unleashes 14th Gen Raptor Lake Desktop CPUs. Are they worth upgrading your PC?

The 14th generation of desktop processors from Intel has been introduced. Six new processors from the 14th generation series with up to 24 cores, 32 threads, and 6GHz clock speeds are available at launch.
14th Gen Intel Core Processors
The Intel Core i9–14900K, which can clock rates up to 6GHz right out of the box, is at the top of the lineup and is described by the manufacturer as being the “fastest desktop processor at volume.” A special edition 13900KS CPU from Intel that had previously been released and cracked the 6GHz barrier at stock rates was not mass-produced.
The Core i7–14700K processor is also part of the most recent update; it now has 25% extra cores, for a total of 20 cores (12 efficiency cores and 8 performance cores) and 28 threads.
Compared to the previous generation, this one has four more efficient cores (E-cores), which results in increased efficiency.
A 6GHz Thermal Velocity Boost frequency that was previously only available on the special-edition Core iKS model has been added by Intel to the Core iK processor. While the E-core max turbo frequency has grown by 100 MHz, the P-core max turbo frequency has increased by 200 Hz to 5.6 GHz.
Even the basic frequencies have been raised by 200 MHz for the P- and E-cores.
Starfield in 1080p is where Intel claims its 14900K is 23% quicker than AMD’s Ryzen 9 7950X3D, and the chip managed over 100 frames per second in Total War: Warhammer III when playing, streaming, and recording in 1080p with high graphics settings. Additionally, according to Intel, the Ryzen 9 14900K is 54% faster than the Ryzen 9 7950X3D at multitasking between After Effects and Premiere Pro.
The i5–14600K edition of the Core i5 has 20 cores total, of which 6 are performance cores and 8 are efficiency cores. The Core i5 is also being updated this year. On the P-core side, it features a base frequency of 3.5 GHz and a boost clock of up to 5.3 GHz.
According to Intel, 14th-generation desktop processors offer a 23% increase in gaming performance over the competition. These assist the Intel Thread Director and Intel Application Optimization.
Additionally, these processors include standalone support for the newest Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 wireless standards, as well as integrated support for Wi-Fi 6/6E and Bluetooth 5.3. They are also compatible with Intel 600 and 700 series chipsets and support Thunderbolt 4.
The XTU AI Assist feature, which facilitates overclocking, is supported by the i9–4900K processor. According to Intel, hundreds of CPUs, motherboards, and cooler types, including liquid cooling, were used to train the AI overclocking model.
